Things to Do

For many, there is nothing more romantic than sailing Venice’s winding canals on a gondola ride, or touring Saint Mark’s Cathedral. A cruise to Venice is the perfect way to experience one of the world’s most unique cities, while at the same time visiting many other exciting destinations along the way.

In addition to St. Mark’s Cathedral and St. Mark’s Square, visit the Frari Church, where Titian’s tomb is located. For history and culture, The Doge’s Palace and the Correr Museum are must-sees, as well as the Guggenheim Collection, which includes modern works by Picasso, Chagall and Klee. The Belltower of St. Mark’s offers incredible views of the city, and the Rialto Bridge is tied to 400 years of the city’s history.

For shopping, visit Rialto market. You’ll find everything here from Carnival masks and famous Murano Glass to leather goods and marbled paper. For a truly unique experience, take a day trip to the island of Murano for a Venetian glass-making tour, or visit Burano where lace-making is a true art.

Don’t leave Venice without a relaxing cruise along the Grand Canal. From Piazzo San Marco to the Ferroria, you can tour the city in style aboard a traditional gondola. If you’d like more time to explore Venice, consider a pre- or post-hotel stay, or even a cruise tour, which will not only allow you a extra time in Venice, but also a few additional days to see Italian cities such as Rome and Florence.
